HSA Adverse Drug Reaction News 2011 August, Vol.13 No.2

The aim of the news bulletin is to increase the awareness of adverse reactions related to health products amongst healthcare professionals, and to promote adverse reaction reporting to health products.

This issue includes topics such as update on the risk of intussusception with rotavirus vaccines, counterfeit coloured contact lenses sold in Singapore, association of venous and arterial thromboembolism with thalidomide and lenalidomide (Revlimid®), dronedarone (Multaq®) and severe hepatic injury, risk of hypomagnesaemia associated with long-term use of proton pump inhibitors, recent product safety-related articles published on HSA website, updates on reclassified medicines in Singapore, label updates on fluoroquinolones and QT prolongation, topiramate (Topamax®) and risk of birth defects, serious skin reactions associated with strontium ranelate (Protos®).
