TYPES OF TREATMENTS WITHDRAWAL LIMITS
For Inpatient Treatment
Medical / surgical inpatient cases
  • S$450 per day (as of 1 May 2007) + Surgical limits according to the Table of Operations (as of 1 June 2009 for admission on or after 1 June 2009).
  • S$400 per day (before 1 May 2007) + Surgical limits according to the Table of Operations (as of 1 June 2009 for admission on or after 1 June 2009).
Approved day surgeries
  • S$300 per day (as of 1 May 2007) + Surgical limits according to the Table of Operations (as of 1 June 2009 for admission on or after 1 June 2009).
  • S$200 per day (before 1 May 2007) + Surgical limits according to the Table of Operations (as of 1 June 2009 for admission on or after 1 June 2009).
Psychiatric treatment S$150 per day up to $5,000 a year
Stay in approved community hospitals S$250 per day up to $5,000 a year
Stay in approved hospices
S$160 per day
Home Pallative Care S$1,500 per patient per lifetime
Day Rehabilitation Centres S$20 per day up to $1,500 a year (for patients admitted before 1 Jun 2010); S$25 per day, up to a maximum of $1,500 per year (for patients admitted on or after 1 Jun 2010)
For Outpatient Treatment

Approved Vaccinations:

1) Pneumococcal vaccinations for children under the age of 5 years (for vaccinations received on or after 1 Nov 2009); Pneumococcal vaccinations for children under the age of 6 years (for vaccinations received on or after 1 Jan 2012)

2) Hepatitis B vaccination (for vaccinations received on or after 1 Nov 2009)

3) HPV vaccinations for females aged 9 to 26 years (for vaccinations received on or after 1 Nov 2010)

S$400 per year per account on or after 1 Jan 2012
Outpatient treatments of approved chronic diseases (Diabetes, Hypertension, Lipids Disorders, Stroke, Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary/Lung Disease, Schizophrenia, Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Dementia) S$400 per year per account on or after 1 Jan 2012
Deductible of $30 and co-payment of 15% applies
Outpatients MRI scans, CT scans and other diagnostics for cancer patients Up to $600 per year
Assisted conception procedures Use of Medisave up to 3 treatment cycles per patient (only patient's and spouse's Medisave may be used) For Assisted Conception Procedures' treatments received on or after 1 August 2004, the withdrawal limits are:
  • 1st withdrawal - S$6,000
  • 2nd withdrawal - S$5,000
  • 3rd withdrawal - S$4,000
Renal dialysis treatment S$450 per month (Only patient's Medisave may be used. For patients aged 18 and below, the parents' Medisave may be used.)
Radiotherapy
  • External Radiotherapy
  • Brachytherapy with external radiotherapy
  • Brachytherapy without external radiotherapy
  • Superficial X-ray
  • Stereotactic radiotherapy

Chemotherapy

(includes drugs used to treat opportunistic infections)
S$550 per month (Only patient's Medisave may be used. For patients aged 18 and below, the parent's Medisave may be used.)
Thalassaemia treatment
(Desferral drug and blood transfusion)

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy S$100 per treatment
Outpatient Intravenous Antibiotic Treatment S$600 per weekly cycle, up to S$2,400 a year
Rental of devices for Long Term Oxygen Therapy and Infant Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Therapy S$75 per month
Immuno-Suppressant Drugs such as Cyclosporin and Tacrolimus S$300 per month
