Quality Care
Singapore has achieved several notable firsts in the world in medical care. Medical excellence is however not just about doing cutting edge research and procedures but also about doing the common things well.
The Ministry’s commitment to patient safety and quality care starts from the top:
In November 2006, Minister for Health, Mr Khaw Boon Wan, pledged his support for a global initiative (the Global Patient Safety Challenge initiated by World Health Organisation (WHO) World Alliance for Patient Safety) to promote high standards of practice to reduce the risks of healthcare-associated infections and improve patient safety.
An Ongoing Journey
Quality improvement is a never ending journey.
There is always some area where we can still improve. This is an exciting challenge and we are committed to press on in delivering safer and better care to our patients.
