Starting today, MOH will be engaging the public with its pre-budget online discussions. Over the next three weeks from 20 Jan to 16 Feb, Health Minister Gan and Minister of State Dr Amy Khor will be penning their thoughts and views on pertinent healthcare issues.

In the first of three blog posts, Minister Gan talks about the “mega challenge” we have at hand – a fast ageing population that will grow to the size of four current housing estates put together. “How do we care for and engage our seniors? How do we make sure that the living environment within our city is one that encourages our seniors to be part of the community and not apart?” Health Minister Gan outlines a trio of immediate challenges facing the aged care sector, and urges a concerted effort to collectively tackle the issues.
