How to Read the Premium Notice Letter

A Premium Notice letter with information about your premium and subsidies will be sent out to the payer of your policy (or the policyholder, if your policy is an Integrated Shield Plan), about one month before your policy renewal date.

To find out how to read your Premium Notice letter:

  • If you are covered by only MediShield Life (your letter was sent to you by the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board), click here.
  • If you are covered by an Integrated Shield Plan (your letter was sent to you by a private Integrated Shield Plan insurer):

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) are made up of two components: MediShield Life and additional private insurance coverage providing additional benefits and coverage (e.g. to cover the costs of private hospitals or Class A/B1 wards in public hospitals).

The Premium Notice letter for IP premiums provides additional information, such as:

  • Summary table: Shows the breakdown of the IP premium into two parts: the premium for the MediShield Life component and the premium for the additional private insurance component.
  • “Exclusion” column: Shows whether the insured has an exclusion on each component of the plan/the rider due to a pre-existing medical condition. Regardless of exclusions on the additional private insurance component of the IP, there will be no exclusions imposed under MediShield Life.
