On 9 February 2018, the Office of Residency Training (ORT), NUS had organised the second National Pharmacy Residency Conference in Academia for the 6 Pharmacy Residents from July 2016 and January 2017 Intakes, who had successfully completed the National Pharmacy Residency Programmes.
The Chairperson of the conference was Associate Professor Andrea Kwa from Singapore General Hospital. A/Prof Kwa started the conference with a welcome speech and presented a slideshow on the journey of residency training embarked by the Residents. Besides congratulating the Residents on their successful exit and recognizing their hard work, A/Prof Kwa also reminded everyone of the efforts and sacrifices put in by the preceptors. She ended her speech by offering her sincere gratitude for all the preceptors in this national program.
Thereafter, the graduating Residents received their certificates of completion from Ms Lim Siew Woon, Co-Chairperson, Residency Policy Oversight Committee and PGY1 Residency Program Director

The Invited Speaker of this conference was Associate Professor Tham Kum Ying, Education Director, Pre-Professional Education Office and Senior Consultant from Tan Tock Seng Hospital. She gave a keynote lecture titled “National Residency Program: From Good to Great.” She shared the new vision for healthcare professionals in the new century and how this vision would lead to transformative learning and interdependence in education. She also emphasized having an education system that can deliver ethics and professionalism, core professional capabilities, system and cross cutting capabilities, leadership and adaptability will be the key to transfer a residency program from good to great.
The Residents ended the conference with presentations of their research projects.
