1. It has come to our attention that some clinical or X-ray laboratories advertise or provide their services before approval of the relevant MOH licence/s under the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Act (PHMCA). In addition, some clinical laboratories also advertise that specific tests provided have been approved by MOH.
2. Please note that Healthcare Institutions should only provide or advertise services after the approval of the relevant MOH licences. Doing so otherwise would be a breach of the PHMCA and result in penalties.
3. You are also advised that advertising that specific tests have been approved by MOH, other than those in the Fifth Schedule, is inaccurate and a breach of the PHMC (Advertisement) Regulations. MOH also does not approve specific tests provided by a clinical laboratory, with the exception of the
Fifth Schedule Specialised Tests and Services. However, you may provide information on the scope of services provided by your laboratory (e.g. X-rays, ultrasound, chemical pathology, haematology).
4. Further guidance for advertisement by licensed laboratories are found below. For clarifications, please contact us via
