The Biosafety Committee means a biosafety committee appointed under section 39 of the Biological Agents and Toxins Act (BATA). The committee is comprised of persons specified in the Sixth Schedule of the BATA.
The Biosafety Coordinator is a member of the Biosafety Committee and responsible for implementing the Biosafety measures, policies, and codes of practice as formulated by the Biosafety Committee.
A person having expertise in Microbiology, and knowledge in the physical and biological sciences, and laboratory practices.
A member of the staff of the operator who is in charge of maintaining the safe and proper functioning of the facility and its equipment.
A person who represents the senior management.
Any other persons who, in the opinion of the operator of the facility, is sufficiently qualified or experienced to help the Biosafety Committee carry out its functions.
