        As of 27 May 2021, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed and verified that there are 15 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection. 12 are linked to previous cases, all of whom have already been placed on quarantine. The remaining 3 are currently unlinked. 14 are in the community, and 1 resides in a dormitory. There are 9 imported cases, who have already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore. Amongst the new cases today, 15 are asymptomatic, and were detected from our proactive screening and surveillance, while 9 were symptomatic.

2.      Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 190 cases in the week before to 152 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased from 43 cases in the week before to 26 cases in the past week. We will continue to closely monitor these numbers, as well as the cases detected through our surveillance programme.

3.      Amongst the 210 confirmed cases reported from 21 May to 27 May, 46 cases have tested positive for their serology tests, 137 have tested negative, and 27 serology test results are pending.


Case Details

a) Cases in the community: 14

There are 14 cases in the community today, of whom 12 are linked to previous cases and 2 are currently unlinked.

Detected through surveillance:

Case 63749 is a 43 year-old female Singaporean who works at GovTech and was last at work on 7 May. She developed a fever, runny nose and body aches on 24 May and sought medical treatment at a General Practitioner (GP) clinic on 25 May, where she underwent both an antigen rapid test (ART) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, and was immediately isolated when her ART result came back positive on the same day. Her PCR test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 26 May. Her serology test result is negative. 

Case 63757 is a 67 year-old male Singaporean who is a retiree. He developed a cough and runny nose on 25 May and sought medical treatment on the same day. He underwent both an ART and PCR test on 26 May and was immediately isolated when his ART result came back positive. His PCR test result also came back positive for COVID-19 infection on the same day. His serology test result is negative.

Changi Prison Complex cluster

Already quarantined:

Case 63751 is a 61 year-old male Singaporean who is an inmate at Changi Prison Complex. As he had been identified as a close contact of Case 635261, he was placed on quarantine on 13 May. He is asymptomatic and was tested for COVID-19 on 13 May, 17 May, 19 May, 21 May and 23 May, and his test results came back negative. He was tested for COVID-19 again on 25 May and his test results came back positive for COVID-19 infection the next day. His serology test result is pending. Case 63751 received his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on 30 March and the second dose on 20 April. 

Hong Ye Group cleaners cluster

Already quarantined:


Case 63760 is a 25 year-old male Singaporean who is employed by Hong Ye Group Pte Ltd as a cleaner at Changi Business Park. He is a workplace contact of Case 635072 and household contact of Case 637403, and was placed on quarantine on 21 May. He is asymptomatic, and was detected when he was tested for COVID-19 on 26 May during quarantine. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 27 May. His serology test result is negative.

Case 63761 is a 58 year-old male Singaporean who is employed by Hong Ye Group Pte Ltd as a cleaner at Changi Business Park. He is a workplace contact of Case 63507. He developed a fever, headache and vomiting on 20 May. The next day, as he had been identified as a close contact of Case 63507, he was placed on quarantine but did not report his symptoms. He was tested for COVID-19 on 26 May, and his result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on the same day. His serology test result is pending.

Case 63765 is a 56 year-old female Singaporean who is employed by Hong Ye Group Pte Ltd as a cleaner at Changi Business Park. As she had been identified as a close contact of Case 63507, she was placed on quarantine on 23 May. She developed a cough on 26 May and reported her symptom. She was tested for COVID-19 on the same day during quarantine. Her test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 26 May. Her serology test result is pending.

Pacific Law Corporation cluster

Already quarantined:

Case 63758 is a 76 year-old male Singaporean who is employed by Clean Solutions Pte Ltd as a cleaner at Henry Park Primary School. He is a family member and household contact of Cases 635794, 63759 and 63762, and was placed on quarantine on 22 May. He is asymptomatic and was detected when he was tested for COVID-19 on 26 May during quarantine, and his test result came back positive on the same day. His serology test result is pending. Case 63758 received his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on 17 April, and the second dose on 15 May.

Case 63759 is a 43 year-old male Singaporean who works as a retail assistant at Alpha Audio Pte Ltd. He is a family member and household contact of Cases 63579, 63758 and 63762, and was placed on quarantine on 22 May. He was tested for COVID-19 on 26 May during quarantine, and his test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on the same day. He subsequently developed a fever on 27 May. His serology test result is pending.

Case 63762 is a 74 year-old female Singaporean who is a homemaker. She is a family member and household contact of Cases 63579, 63758 and 63759, and was placed on quarantine on 22 May. She is asymptomatic and was detected when she was tested for COVID-19 on 26 May during quarantine. Her test result came back positive for COVID-19 on the same day. Her serology test result is pending. Case 63762 received her first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on 17 April, and the second dose on 15 May.

Tektronix cluster

Already quarantined:

Case 63752 is a 43 year-old male Singapore Permanent Resident who works at Tektronix Southeast Asia Pte Ltd, and is a workplace contact of Cases 637215 and 637486. He was arranged by his company to be tested for COVID-19 on 24 May, and his ART result came back negative. As he had been identified as a close contact of Case 63721, he was placed on quarantine on 25 May. He developed a fever, cough and sore throat on the same day, and was tested for COVID-19 during quarantine. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on the same day. His serology test result is pending.

Case 63446 cluster7

Already quarantined:

Case 63773 is a 55 year-old male Singaporean who works as a dispatch rider at MV Credit Pte Ltd. He is a family member and household contact of Cases 63446 and 636568, and was placed on quarantine on 18 May. He was tested for COVID-19 on 21 May and his test result came back negative. He developed a fever on 25 May but did not report his symptom. His fever continued the next day and he was conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he was tested for COVID-19. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 27 May. His serology test result is negative.

Case 63708 cluster9

Already quarantined:

Case 63756 is a 53 year-old male Singaporean who works as a driver at Kim Transport and a part-time private hire car driver with Grab. He is a household contact and family member of Cases 63708 and 6370910. As he had been identified as a close contact of Case 63708, he was placed on quarantine on 24 May. He developed a fever on 26 May and was tested for COVID-19. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on the same day. His serology test result is pending.

Already quarantined:

Case 63764 is a 55 year-old male Singaporean who works as a freelance handyman. He is a family member and household contact of Case 6362311, and was placed on quarantine on 22 May. He is asymptomatic, and was detected when he was tested for COVID-19 on 26 May during quarantine. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on the same day. His serology test result is pending. Case 63764 received his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on 30 April. 

Case 63766 is a 50 year-old male Singaporean who works at Assalaamu’alaikum Enterprise Pte Ltd. He is a workplace and household contact of Case 6357512 and was placed on quarantine on 22 May. He developed a fever on 25 May but did not report his symptom. The next day, he was tested for COVID-19 during quarantine. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 27 May. His serology test result is pending.

b) Cases residing in dormitories: 1

There is 1 case residing in a dormitory today who is currently unlinked. 

Detected through surveillance:

Case 63750 is a 42 year-old male Bangladesh national who is employed by Teng Feng Engineering Pte Ltd and works at Harvest @ Woodlands (280 Woodlands Industrial Park E5). He resides at Woodlands Lodge 2 (190 Woodlands Industrial Park E7). He has reported that he had not interacted with previous cases (Cases 63622, 63696, 63697, 63698, and 63723) who reside at Harvest @ Woodlands. He is asymptomatic, and was detected when he was tested on 23 May as part of Rostered Routine Testing (RRT). His pooled test result came back positive for COVID-19 on 24 May and he was immediately isolated. An individual test was done on 25 May, and his test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 26 May. His serology test result is negative for the N antigen, which suggests the presence of early infection. Case 63750 received his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on 14 May.

c) Imported cases: 9

Amongst the 9 imported cases, 

-  5 (Cases 63753, 63767, 63768, 63769 and 63772) are Singaporeans and 2 (Cases 63763 and 63771) are Singapore Permanent Residents who returned from India.
-  1 (Case 63754) is a Short-Term Visit Pass holder who arrived from Indonesia to visit her family member who is a Singaporean.
-  1 (Case 63755) is a Special Pass holder who is a sea crew. He arrived from Indonesia on a vessel and was tested when he was hospitalised for a medical condition that was unrelated to COVID-19. 

They had all already been placed on SHN or isolated upon arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving SHN or during isolation.

5.     Epidemiological investigations are in progress. In the meantime, all the identified close contacts of the cases have been isolated and placed on quarantine, and will be tested at the start and end of their quarantine period so that we can detect asymptomatic cases. We will also conduct serological tests for the close contacts to determine if the cases could have been infected by them.

Update on condition of confirmed cases

6.     MOH has been monitoring existing clusters for any further transmission. As there have been no more cases linked to the Case 62049 cluster for the past two incubation periods (i.e. 28 days), the cluster has now been closed.

7.     12 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 61,372 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities. 

8.     There are currently 245 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 2 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit. 291 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19. 32 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.

2 Case 63507 is a 31 year-old male Singaporean who is employed by Hong Ye Group Pte Ltd as a cleaner at Changi Business Park. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 19 May.
3 Case 63740 is a 25 year-old female Singaporean who is employed by Hong Ye Group Pte Ltd as a cleaner at Changi Business Park. She was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 26 May.
Case 63579 is a 50 year-old female Singaporean who works at Pacific Law Corporation. She was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 21 May.
5 Case 63721 is a 50 year-old male Singaporean who works as an engineer at Tektronix Southeast Asia Pte Ltd. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 24 May.
6 Case 63748 is a 38 year-old male Singapore Permanent Resident who works at Tektronix Southeast Asia Pte Ltd. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 26 May.
7 Case 63446 is a 28 year-old male Singaporean who works as an engineer at Patec Ptd Ltd. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 18 May.
8 Case 63656 is a 54 year-old female Singaporean who is a homemaker. She is a family member and close contact of Case 63446. She was confirmed to have COVID-19 on 23 May.
9 Case 63708 is a 15 year-old male Singaporean who is a student at Westwood Secondary School. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 on 24 May.
10  Case 63709 is a 46 year-old female Singaporean who works as a secretary at Prestige Legal LLP. She was confirmed to have COVID-19 on 24 May.
11 Case 63623 is a 74 year-old female Singaporean who is a homemaker. She was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 22 May.
12  Case 63575 is a 58 year-old male Singaporean who works at Assalaamu’alaikum Enterprise Pte Ltd. He was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on 21 May.
