MINISTER FOR HEALTH AND COORDINATING MINISTER FOR SOCIAL POLICIES MR ONG YE KUNG TO ATTEND THE 77TH WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION REGIONAL COMMITTEE MEETING FOR THE WESTERN PACIFIC IN MANILA, PHILIPPINES

1.          Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, will attend the 77th World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee Meeting (RCM) for the Western Pacific in Manila, Philippines from 19 to 20 October 2026.

2.          The Western Pacific RCM is an annual meeting of 38 member states and areas. It is attended by Health Ministers and senior officials from the region, as well as senior officials from the WHO. The 77th RCM will discuss regional health issues such as healthcare supply chains, artificial intelligence in healthcare, hypertension control, immunisation and tobacco control.

3.          Mr Ong will meet his foreign counterparts on the sidelines of the meeting. He will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Health.
