To ask the Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health (a) in each of the past five years, how many children below the age of 18 were admitted to KK Women's and Children's Hospital for non-medical or social reasons; (b) what are the most common reasons and their respective proportion of admissions; and (c) what is the median length of stay for such admissions.
Answer
1 Between 2021 and 2025, the number of children below the age of 18 admitted for non-medical or social reasons in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) averages at 230 per year. The Average Length of Stay is 12.4 days. Most were due to problems at home or the social environment, and alleged abuse.
