Question No. 385
To ask the Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health (a) how many Singaporeans have less than the Basic Healthcare Sum at age 65; and (b) whether there are any plans to review the Basic Healthcare Sum.
Answer
1 The Basic Healthcare Sum (BHS) is the maximum amount that a CPF member can accumulate in their MediSave Account. In 2024, 55% of active Singaporean CPF members aged 65 were able to accumulate MediSave monies up to their BHS.
2 The BHS is reviewed annually to ensure it remains adequate for members’ basic healthcare needs from age 65.
