To ask the Minister for Health since 2021, for inpatients and outpatients respectively (a) how many billing invoices have been issued to patients at public healthcare institutions; and (b) what proportions are for care provided within the prior (i) 30 days (ii) 31 to 60 days (iii) 61 to 90 days (iv) 91 to 120 days (v) 121 to 180 days (vi) 181 to 365 days and (vii) 366 or more days.
Written Answer
Between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2021, around seven million invoices were issued to patients of public hospitals. Of these, approximately 6.7 million (96%) were issued within 30 days of the care episode and 6.8 million (98%) were issued within 90 days.
