CASE ties up with MOH's "Bill Size Data" on website
The Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) are pleased to jointly announce the official launch of the hospital bill-size data, which will be posted on our respective websites.
The hospital bill-size data aims to inform the public of the different cost of having a certain procedure done (i.e., knee surgery) in different hospitals, thereby allowing people to make an informed choice on where to go for their elective surgery. For now, only the public hospitals are involved. It is hoped that the private hospitals would submit their data to the MOH by the end of this year.
The list of comparative medical bill sizes will start-off with 28 common conditions / procedures that the public can easily identify with and / or likely to be interested in. The MOH would update its website monthly, and would add more medical conditions progressively.
The bill size data in the MOH website would also show the 50th and the 90th percentile bill size of a certain procedure so that the public can budget on what they expect to pay.
The public may visit the MOH website at www.moh.gov.sg for more information, or they may visit CASE's website at www.case.org.sg where there is a link to the MOH website.
CASE can be contacted via its hotline at 6463-1811, fax 6467-9055, and email: complaints@case.org.sg.
