Question No. 1259

To ask the Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health (a) whether the Ministry can provide data for the median out-of-pocket total payments from the first visit to childbirth for pregnancies managed by public hospitals; and (b) if so, what is the amount.


Answer

The Ministry of Health does not specifically track bill data for Specialist Outpatient Clinic antenatal care. In 2024, about 8 in 10 Singapore Citizens had no out-of-pocket payments for subsidised deliveries at a public hospital.
