To ask the Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health whether the Ministry will consider establishing a policy framework for Goods and Services Tax (GST) relief on essential medications used to treat rare or complex conditions, particularly where patients face high out-of-pocket costs and limited treatment options.

Answer

1          The Government absorbs GST for medical services and medications for subsidised patients at government-funded public hospitals, polyclinics, and intermediate and long-term care institutions.
