Question No. 2365
To ask the Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health in light of plans to make bone density tests more accessible to women under Healthier SG (a) whether osteoporosis risk assessment and bone density tests will be similarly available to men aged 65 and above, in line with the 2026 recommendations by the Screening Test Review Committee (STRC); (b) if not, why not; and (c) how will other persons at higher risk of osteoporosis be identified and supported.
Answer
We are currently developing protocols for osteoporosis risk assessment and screening under Healthier SG. In so doing, we will take into account the risk factors for patient groups of different ages and genders. Details, together with supporting evidence, will be announced when ready.
