To ask the Minister for Health (a) whether any GLP-1 receptor agonist drugs are currently approved for use to treat diabetes in Singapore; and (b) whether any of such class of drugs are under review to treat obesity, given the popularity of such drugs to treat obesity in countries such as the United States.
Answer
1 There are 3 GLP-1 receptor agonist drugs which have been approved for use in Singapore by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) for the management of diabetes. Of these, 2 have also been approved by HSA for the purposes of obesity management.
