Health Minister to attend 56th Session of of the World Health Organisation Regional Committee Meeting for the Western Pacific

Minister for Health Mr Khaw Boon Wan will be attending the 56th Session of the World Health Organisation Regional Committee Meeting for the Western Pacific, to be held in Noumea, New Caledonia, from 19 to 23 September 2005.

At the Regional Committee Meeting, Minister Khaw will be participating in the Ministerial Round Table discussion on "Responding to health aspects of disasters". The Meeting will also discuss various health issues including Asia-Pacific strategy for emerging diseases, tobacco control, child health and environmental health.

Minister Khaw will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Health.
