MINISTER FOR HEALTH AND COORDINATING MINISTER FOR SOCIAL POLICIES MR ONG YE KUNG TO ATTEND THE UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY HIGH-LEVEL MEETING IN NEW YORK, UNITED STATES

1.         Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, will attend the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting (UNGA HLM) on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response in New York, United States of America, from 23 to 25 September 2026.  

2.         Mr Ong will deliver Singapore’s national statement during the plenary segment of the meeting. He will also co-chair a multistakeholder panel on strengthening the capacities and financing needed for a more equitable pandemic prevention, preparedness and response.

3.          On the sidelines of the UNGA HLM, Mr Ong will be speaking at a side event organised by Ministry of Health and Hilleman Laboratories on lessons in outbreak preparedness and response.

4.       Mr Ong will meet his foreign counterparts during his visit and will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Health.
