MINISTER FOR HEALTH MR ONG YE KUNG TO ATTEND THE G20 HEALTH MINISTERS' MEETING IN ROME, ITALY

Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health, will attend the G20 Health Ministers' Meeting (HMM) in Rome, Italy, from 5 to 6 September 2021.
2. The G20 HMM is an annual meeting comprising of 19 countries and the EU, invited countries, as well as several international and regional organisations. Singapore is attending the G20 HMM as a guest country at the invitation of Italy, the current G20 presidency.
3. The G20 HMM will discuss global health issues, including addressing the COVID-19 pandemic's impact on the Sustainable Development Goals1 (SDGs), improving preparedness against future health emergencies, and defining global strategies to increase the development and equitable access of vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics.
4. Mr Ong will meet with his counterparts at the Meeting. He will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Health.
