MINISTER ONG YE KUNG TO ATTEND G20 HEALTH MINISTERIAL MEETING AND JOINT FINANCE AND HEALTH MINISTERIAL MEETING IN LIMPOPO, SOUTH AFRICA

            Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, will attend the G20 Health Ministerial Meeting (HMM) and Joint Finance and Health Ministerial Meeting (JFHMM) in Limpopo, South Africa from 6 to 7 November 2025.

2.          The G20 HMM and JFHMM are annual meetings comprising 19 countries, the European Union, the African Union, along with other invited countries. Singapore has been invited to attend both meetings as a guest country by South Africa, which currently holds the G20 presidency.

3.           The G20 HMM and JFHMM will discuss global health issues. These include:

  • Strengthening pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response;

  • Building up capabilities for vaccine and therapeutics development and manufacturing; and

  • Improving finance and health coordination for key health financing issues

4.          Mr Ong will also meet his counterparts at the Meetings and make a working visit to Cape Town. He will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Health.
