To ask the Minister for Health what are the current occupancy rates of public and private hospitals and their capacity to admit new inpatients.

Written Answer

There were 9,728 beds in the public hospitals as of end February 2022 with overall average monthly bed occupancy rate of 88.5%.

There were 1,929 beds in the private hospitals as of end Feb 2022 with overall average monthly bed occupancy rate of 47.0%.
