Setting - Inpatient or Day Surgery

Clinical Indications

Initial ureteroscopy:

Diagnosis of lesions in the upper urinary tract
As a means of dilatation of the ureter for the diagnosis of upper tract neoplasms, benign or malignant i.e., biopsy
For the diagnosis of ureterovaginal fistulas or stenoses of the pelviureteric junction, congenital or acquired
Lateralizing essential haematuria (haemangiomas, minute venous rupture, varices, arterio-venous malformations, and neoplasms)

Subsequent ureteroscopy:

Indications for subsequent ureteroscopy are the same as initial ureteroscopy above
