If your passion is to provide direct care to patients and their families, you can advance in the Clinical Track as a Nurse Clinician. You will be provided opportunities to develop your knowledge in specialised disciplines of nursing such as Critical Care, Oncology, Continence Management and Diabetes Education.  You will lead your team to deliver holistic and comprehensive patient care to promote health and recovery.

When you are ready, you can pursue your Masters Degree in Nursing to develop your expertise for extended practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN). Among other things, APNs are able to run clinics independently, order tests as well as manage patients with stable chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, stroke, asthma and mental health problems.

Nurse Educator

If passing on knowledge and nurturing aspiring nurses is what you enjoy, pursue the Education Track to become a Nurse Educator. You can choose to work in a hospital to develop and implement education and training programmes for nurses, or be a full time nursing lecturer in an educational institution.  You can also pursue professorial opportunities in academia.

Nurse Manager

If you like to lead, you can take the Management Track to manage a ward or department in a healthcare institution as a Nurse Manager. You would be entrusted with  the professional and personal development of your team as well as creating a good working environment for them.

Enrolled Nurses

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will assist the Registered Nurses to provide holistic nursing care for patients. You can progress to be a Senior Enrolled Nurse to take on higher nursing responsibilities.  You will be provided with opportunities to upgrade yourself professionally with  the Post-Nitec Courses at Institute of Technical Education, College East.

With good grades or additional academic qualifications, you can become a Registered Nurse by obtaining a Nursing Diploma from Nanyang Polytechnic or Ngee Ann Polytechnic or a degree in Nursing (refer to entry requirements for the various universities).
