Subsidies

The Ministry of Health provides subsidies to make treatment at CHAS clinics, Polyclinics, and public Specialist Outpatient Clinics more affordable. This ensures that one can get the care they need without worrying about the cost. This support covers many types of treatments, from seeing a family doctor to getting specialist care.

Medisave

MediSave covers a broad range of outpatient treatments through schemes such as MediSave500/700 and Flexi-MediSave.

Treatments covered include:

  • Vaccinations and health screenings.

  • Dialysis and cancer treatments

  • Long-term conditions like diabetes, hypertension, stroke, and depression.

MediShield Life

MediShield Life covers selected costly outpatient treatments such as dialysis and chemotherapy for cancer. It is basic, which means it is sized for subsidised treatment in the public hospitals.

Treatments covered include:

  • Cancer drugs

  • Radiotherapy for cancer

  • Renal dialysis

  • Drugs for organ transplant and chronic kidney failure

MediFund

MediFund is a safety net for Singaporeans who find it difficult to pay their medical bills even after Government subsidies, MediSave and MediShield Life.

Pioneer Generation Package

Our Pioneers get special help with their healthcare costs, as part of the Pioneer Generation Package.

When Pioneers visit Polyclinics or public Specialist Outpatient Clinics, they get an additional 50% off their bill after subsidies. This applies to both treatments and medicines. Pioneers also receive more subsidies at CHAS clinics.

Merdeka Generation Package

Merdeka Generation Seniors get extra help with their healthcare costs, as part of the Merdeka Generation Package.

When these seniors visit Polyclinics or public Specialist Outpatient Clinics, they get an additional 25% off their bill after subsidies. This discount applies to both their treatments and medicines. Merdeka Generation Seniors also receive more subsidies at CHAS clinics.
