Why is vaccination important?
COVID-19 vaccination protects you against severe disease, minimises the risk of transmission, and protects our healthcare system from being overwhelmed. Vaccination is free under the National Vaccination Programme for all Singaporean Citizens, Permanent Resident, Long Term Pass Holders and certain Short Term Pass holders.What are the vaccines available under the National Vaccination Programme?
What should I do to be vaccinated against COVID-19?
Persons who are 6 months to 4 years should complete the following:
- Two doses of Moderna/Spikevax, given eight weeks apart, OR
- Three doses of Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty, given eight weeks apart
Persons who are aged 5 years and above should follow the following:
Minimum Protection

To achieve minimum protection, persons aged 5 years and above should complete, as applicable (see footnote on age eligibility),- Three doses of Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty, Moderna/Spikevax or Novavax/Nuvaxovid. The first and second doses should be spaced eight weeks apart, while the recommended interval between the second and third doses is five months; OR,
- Four doses of Sinovac-CoronaVac. The first and second doses should be spaced eight weeks apart. Thereafter, the recommended interval between the second and third, as well as third and fourth doses is three months.
These would be doses that were previously referred to as the primary vaccination series and the first booster.
No further doses are recommended for persons aged 5 to 11. |
Booster Vaccination in 2023

The following persons are recommended to receive in 2023, a booster at 1 year after their last booster dose. - Persons aged 60 years and above
- Persons who live in aged care facilities
- Persons who are medically vulnerable and at higher risk of severe disease who are aged 12 years and above
The updated bivalent vaccines are recommended for this.
Other persons aged 12 years and above may also receive one booster dose at the same interval if they choose to. |
Note: Age eligibility for the various vaccines apply. Under the National Vaccination Programme, persons aged 5-17 years are eligible to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty vaccine only. Persons aged 18 years and older are eligible to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty, Moderna/Spikevax, Novavax/Nuvaxovid or Sinovac-CoronaVac vaccines.
Locations for vaccination
All persons eligible for COVID-19 vaccination may book an appointment at the Joint Testing and Vaccination Centres (JTVCs)/ participating Public Health Preparedness Clinics (PHPCs)/ Polyclinics/Vaccination Centres (VCs) via your SMS invitation. You may also receive your doses by walking into any JTVC or VC that offers the vaccine recommended for the different age groups. On days where there is high demand for vaccination, individuals should expect a longer waiting period.
Mobile Vaccination Teams (MVTs) have been deployed to selected heartland locations to make it even more convenient for our seniors to get vaccinated and boosted. The MVTs will be deployed at selected Residents’ Committee Centres at residential blocks and Community Centres. Each MVT will be deployed at a given site for a few days before moving on to the next location.
Persons who are unable to leave home (e.g. persons with disabilities, mobility difficulties etc.) but want to receive their vaccination may arrange for the services of Home Vaccination Teams (HVTs). They may do so through the following means:
